A 75ª edição do Emmy foi adiada de 18 de setembro do ano atual para 15 de janeiro de 2024. É a primeira vez que a cerimônia é remarcada desde 2001, quando teve a data alterada após os atentados terroristas de 11 de setembro nos Estados Unidos. A sede está mantida em Los Angeles, no Peacock Theater.
De acordo com fontes ouvidas pela imprensa local, a decisão já era esperada, tendo em vista a atual greve de atores e roteiristas de Hollywood. O movimento é o mais forte da indústria em 60 anos, com a paralisação tendo sido convocada no último dia 13 de julho. Filmes e séries como “Deadpool 3”, “Gladiador 2”, “Stranger Things” e “The Last of Us” estão entre as produções diretamente afetadas.
Os manifestantes exigem aumentos salariais, melhores condições de trabalho, revisão na política de divisão de lucros – tendo em vista a nova realidade do mercado, com o crescimento dos serviços de streaming – e condições estabelecidas em lei para o uso de conteúdo gerado por inteligência artificial.
A série com maior número de indicações ao Emmy 2023 (sim, apesar do adiamento, a edição segue sendo a deste ano) é “Succession”, da HBO, com 27 nomes concorrendo às categorias técnicas (que são anunciadas em um evento separado) e principais.
“The Last of Us” vem na segunda posição entre as produções com mais indicações, com 24. Após o drama pós-apocalíptico, está “The White Lotus”, com 23, e a comédia “Ted Lasso”, com 21. A HBO é a empresa mais presente, acumulando 74 disputas no total.
