A Rolling Stone publicou recentemente uma nova lista. Para celebrar o 50º aniversário do disco de estreia homônimo dos Ramones, a revista americana elegeu os 100 melhores álbuns punk da história.
Ao todo, 17 profissionais ficaram responsáveis pela seleção. Como ressaltado pelo veículo, o resultado incluiu trabalhos de “precursores essenciais” como The Stooges, New York Dolls e Patti Smith, ao lado de nomes como Sex Pistols, The Clash, Black Flag, Descendents, Bad Brains e Minor Threat.
Bandas mais orientadas ao pop punk, como Green Day e Blink-182, e grupos de “hardcore da nova geração”, como Turnstile e Soul Glo, também apareceram. A ideia era abranger toda a “explosão de ideias” causada pelo estilo.
Justamente o primeiro projeto dos Ramones, que leva o nome da banda, garantiu o primeiro lugar. Para a Rolling Stone, o material de 1976 é “o disco mais influente e duradouro do punk” e “a maneira como quatro desajustados à margem da juventude americana transformaram isso em uma fúria tão original e obstinada continua difícil de definir”.

Sobre o álbum de estreia dos Ramones
No dia 23 de abril de 1976, os Ramones disponibilizavam “Ramones”, seu disco de estreia. Um dos mais importantes da história do punk e do rock em geral, o álbum de “Blitzkrieg Bop” e outros clássicos foi gravado em sete dias, com orçamento de 6,4 mil dólares. O trabalho ganhou disco de ouro nos Estados Unidos apenas em 2014, quase 40 anos depois de seu lançamento.
