Rush lançará versão comemorativa dos 40 anos de Permanent Waves

O Rush anunciou que vai lançar uma versão comemorativa de 40 anos do álbum ‘Permanent Waves’, original de 1980. A novidade foi divulgada pela Universal Music Brasil, indicando que o material pode ganhar uma edição nacional pela gravadora.

Com lançamento marcado para o dia 29 de maio, o novo produto trará as 6 músicas originais, na versão remasterizada de 2016, junto de outras 11 faixas (12, nas edições digital e em vinil) gravadas ao vivo da turnê daquela época, com shows em St. Louis, Londres e Manchester. Além disso, o material inclui um livreto de 20 páginas com fotos de arquivo, capa reimaginada pelo artista Hugh Syme e outros colecionáveis.

São, ao todo, quatro configurações diferentes de lançamento: super deluxe (trazendo o show em Manchester), CD duplo deluxe (com a apresentação em Londres), LP triplo deluxe (com a performance em St. Louis) e digital deluxe.

Da nova edição, já estão disponíveis as versões ao vivo das músicas ‘The Spirit of Radio’ e ‘Natural Science’. Ouça:

Vale destacar que o relançamento de ‘Permanent Waves’ não tem mixagem em Blu-Ray 5.1 surround, como o box comemorativo de ‘Hemispheres’ (1978), lançado em 2018. O motivo seria o fato de o estúdio Trident, onde o álbum foi trabalhado, acabou fechando as portas algum tempo depois.

Originalmente divulgado em 1° de janeiro de 1980, ‘Permanent Waves’ é o sétimo álbum da carreira do Rush. O trabalho inicia uma transição para uma sonoridade mais radiofônica, com músicas como ‘The Spirit of Radio’ e ‘Freewill’. Vendeu mais de um milhão de cópias nos Estados Unidos e preparou o terreno para o sucessor, ‘Moving Pictures’ (1981), ainda mais bem-sucedido.
