O Whitesnake anunciou, com a gravadora Rhino, que vai relançar o seu 8° álbum de estúdio, “Slip Of The Tongue”, em uma edição luxuosa. A ideia é celebrar o 30° aniversário do lançamento, de novembro de 1989.
A nova edição, “Slip Of The Tongue: 30th Anniversary Edition”, chega a público em 4 de outubro. O pacote mais luxuoso contará com 6 CDs e um DVD, incluindo a tracklist original remasterizada, gravações inéditas de estúdio, áudio e vídeo do show no Monsters of Rock 1990 e uma entrevista com o vocalista e líder, David Coverdale.
Outras versões, mais modestas, incluem CD duplo ou LP duplo, com o álbum original remasterizado e gravações inéditas, além de CD simples, apenas com a edição remasterizada e alguns b-sides. O material também chegará ao streaming.

“Slip Of The Tongue” chama a atenção por ser o único álbum com o guitarrista Steve Vai. Ele substituiu Vivian Campbell e ficou até o “primeiro fim” da banda ter sido anunciado, já no início da década de 1990. Além de Coverdale e Vai, a formação contava com Adrian Vandenberg na guitarra (que não gravou o disco por ter sofrido um acidente, mas tocou na turnê), Rudy Sarzo no baixo e Tommy Aldridge na bateria.
