Lamb of God lançará EP em homenagem a fã que morreu de câncer

O Lamb of God anunciou um novo EP para ser lançado ainda este ano. “The Duke” chega ao público em dezembro.

O trabalho é feito em homenagem a Wayne Alan Ford, um fã da banda que, em 2015, morreu de leucemia. O vocalista Randy Blythe se inspirou nele para fazer a música que dá nome ao EP, durante as gravações de “VII: Sturm und Drang”.

“Por várias razões, não lançamos ‘The Duke’ como uma faixa de álbum. Achei que a música teria mais atenção se lançada posteriormente. E eu queria isto. Quero que a história de THe Duke alerte as pessoas sobre a leucemia, especialmente com relação à doação de sangue”, afirmou Randy Blythe, em um comunicado.

Randy Blythe também anunciou que vai leiloar o disco de ouro que recebeu por “Ashes of the Wake”. A renda obtida vai ser destinada à Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

10.18.2016 “The Duke” This is my copy of the Ashes of the Wake gold record- soon it will be available in a charity auction being organized to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (WWW.LLS.ORG). This auction will coincide with an EP release later this year- the five song EP of two new tracks & 3 live songs is named “The Duke”, after the title track of the record. I wrote the song “The Duke” in honor of a fan named Wayne Ford that I briefly got to be friends with during the recording sessions for VII: Sturm und Drang. I had met Wayne a few years previously in AZ- he was battling leukemia. While I was recording our last album, word got to me that Wayne was terminal & would be leaving this world soon. I reached out & we became friends- I found his stoic demeanor in the face of his own imminent death extremely inspiring- he was an amazingly grounded man.
